Dr. Barry is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in New Jersey. He received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University-Post Campus, and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at Hackensack University Medical Center (HackensackUMC). Dr. Barry has been on the medical staff at Hackensack University Medical Center since 2012, where he provides psychological services to children, adolescents, and parents. Dr. Barry holds a dual-appointment as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the Hackensack-Meridian School of Medicine. He provides clinical supervision to psychology trainees/students at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Barry has offered testimony in New Jersey Superior Court as an expert in clinical psychology on several occasions. While Dr. Barry has been trained to work with a wide range of mental health needs, he has specialty training in treatment for disruptive behavior in children, parent-training, parenting stress, reducing family conflict, and recovery from trauma and abuse. In his work with clients, he integrates evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, motivational interviewing, and traditional psychodynamic treatment approaches.
